ABOUT

Gabrielle Lewis is a theatre-maker, dramaturg, and teaching artist currently based in Austin, Texas. She graduated from Augsburg University with a B.A. in Theatre, with concentrations in Performance and Directing/Playwriting/Dramaturgy. She is currently pursuing her M.F.A. in Drama and Theatre for Youth and Communities at the University of Texas at Austin.

She is passionate about devising theatre and using theatre as a vehicle to guide young people in expressing themselves. She has worked as a teaching artist for ZACH Theatre and SteppingStone Theatre for Youth.

"Theatre helped me come into my voice when I was a closed-off and insecure teenager, and I seek to guide others in finding their own voices. Theatre is the bridge connecting the disparate parts of my identity, and I work to let young people know that this is a bridge they can cross as well."
